New Tenant Announced for The Chesterfield Building in Downtown Durham

RALEIGH, NC - December 1, 2016 - Wexford Science + Technology, a national real estate development company, has announced Nutanix as the newest tenant for the Chesterfield building located in downtown Durham. The Chesterfield is currently undergoing redevelopment and is represented by NAI Carolantic Broker, Robin Roseberry Anders, SIOR.

Nutanix is a software company which provides an enterprise cloud platform that makes infrastructure invisible, elevating IT to focus on the application and services that power businesses. The Chesterfield location is expected to be the largest east coast office for the San Jose-based company. The firm will occupy 70,000 square feet.

Wexford is transforming the historic Chesterfield tobacco building into an innovation hub that will include lab and office space, 11,500-square-feet of ground-level retail space and 42,000 square feet of shared lab innovation space. Located in Durham’s Brightleaf District, the new Chesterfield will accommodate a “live-work-play-learn” environment, fueling Durham’s growth and national reputation as a leader in health, science and technology innovation. Central to the building’s design is a six-story atrium that will increase the amount of natural light in the building and provide spaces for collaboration, networking and events. The project is expected to be completed in January. Other committed Chesterfield tenants include Duke University for 100,000 square feet and BioLabs NC for 42,000.

“NAI Carolantic is honored to have represented Wexford Science & Technology as the Chesterfield redevelopment has taken shape. Moreover, we are thrilled to welcome Nutanix to the building as they continue to build upon Durham’s dynamic technology ecosystem,” said Anders.
