RALEIGH, NC – January 15, 2019 – Jimmy Barnes, SIOR, President, NAI Carolantic, has been named Chair of the NAI Global 2019 Leadership Board. The announcement was made at the NAI Global Annual Convention in Austin, Texas. NAI Global is a leading global commercial real estate brokerage firm.

The NAI Leadership Board provides proactive leadership to increase the profitability, professionalism, technical capability, integrity and standards of practice that reinforce and breed mutual trust and respect throughout the organization. It fosters and promotes activities, education and communication that elevate the level of engagement and productivity of Offices, Agents and the Organization at-large.
Barnes will also serve on the NAI Global Board’s Executive Leadership Committee, comprised of executive committee officers, past chairs, and NAI Global’s executive leaders. This group assures the alignment of strategies, goals and objectives so that the organization can perform with the greatest degree of efficiency under a shared vision.

Barnes has over 28 years of commercial real estate experience in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. The last 26 years have been with NAI Carolantic Realty. He was named President of the company in 2001. A specialist in all areas of leasing and sales, Mr. Barnes has been involved in over $100 million of transactions just over the last few years with total transactions exceeding one million square feet. He provides exclusive tenant, buyer and landlord representative services to local, corporate and investment companies, and has represented large Class A office developments for investors in Cary, Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park area.
Barnes has a degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and served as a past Chair of the ASU Board of Trustees.
